You don’t have to reorganize your whole day to try a different relationship with your screen. Begin with one task and one window of time.
Choose the thing you want to do
Writing a page. Reading a chapter. Finishing the part you’ve been putting off. A specific task gives your focus window somewhere to go.
Keep the scope small enough that you can picture starting it right now.
Pick what can wait
Choose the apps and websites that tend to pull you away from that task. Leave essential communication and the tools you need available.
In Focus Span, you can put those distractions into a profile with a recurring schedule, or choose them for a focus timer. A timer without targets is simply a countdown.
Start with a flexible boundary
Try a Normal profile before choosing Strict. A Normal profile can be paused, which gives you room to learn what your day actually needs.
If you later choose Strict, review your targets and schedule first. It makes an active plan harder to change; it is not tamper-proof protection.
Leave the next decision for later
Once your window is running, put your attention on the first small part of the task. When it ends, decide whether to continue, take a break, or adjust the next window.
The point is a plan you understand and choose for yourself.
